Winter 2018 Schedule

We offer a wide variety of classes ranging from traditional hand techniques to the latest in rotary cutting and machine piecing. Whatever your skill level or interest, we have something you'll enjoy. We pride ourselves on attracting great teachers who bring the best techniques to our students, and our shop staff are available to help you find the right class, and select fabrics and supplies. The first day to register for winter session classes is Thursday, December 14, 2017.


This club will begin in September and meet on the 3rd Saturday of the month for 6 consecutive months. The focus of the club will be on learning new techniques, finishing your projects, organizing your quilting and having some fun. Registration for Scrap Tamers Club begins Saturday August 19 at 9:30 AM. Sessions meet: 10:00, 11:15 or 1:15.

Machine Classes

This class will teach the fundamentals of rotary cutting and piecing by machine.

Join Susan and Nancy for two days of fun filled sewing! Bring a project already in process or start something new. Susan and Nancy will be working on projects too but will be available for help and advice.

Learn to use the Rapid Fire Hunter's Star tool by Deb Tucker by making one of the many quilts in her new book, Hidden Treasures.

Have you ever wanted to make a Mariners Compass block but do not enjoy paper piecing? Now there is a new line of rulers, books, patterns and technique for making strip-pieced compass blocks.

The Pineapple Quilt has been a longtime favorite, but not an easily pieced quilt. The Pineapple Trim Tool by Creative Grid has made this complicated block easy to piece!

Special Topics

Clear up your color confusion! Learn the language of color - hue, value, intensity, temperature - and put it to work for you.

Join our Featherweight expert and learn how to do more maintenance on your Singer Featherweight sewing machine. This is a continuation with information not covered in Carole's Basic Featherwieght Class.

Cost: $ 45.00
Learn how to do your own regular maintenance on your Singer Featherweight to keep it in top running condition. Carole will teach you how to do a thorough cleaning and oiling of your machine.

Participants have a wonderful time at our monthly volunteer event. We can't believe how much they get done in a day while having a lot of FUN.

Traditional Classes

Learn techniques for perfect hand applique. You will apply needleturn techniques to a quilt, wallhanging or miniature quilt of your choice.

Cost: $ 42.00
In this course you will make a 9 block sampler wallhanging or small quilt using a variety of by-hand quiltmaking techniques, including piecing, applique, curved piecing and finishing methods.

Cost: $ 55.00
This class is for students who enjoy the support of a class with Pat as they work on their continuing quilting projects.
